Amanda Lemasters
Pottery Artist
A L Pottery
Amanda took pottery class in college and loved it. Some years went by, as they do, then she heard about a pottery class at South Bend Art Museum. She decided it was a great opportunity to get out of the house and do something with her hands.
She started with Intro To Hand Building and found she still loved working with clay.
She now does Open Studio time and stays inspired by seeing other artists and what they make at the studio.
Amanda and her art will be at the Glass, Pottery and Artisan Skincare Show on First Friday, August 1st, in Goshen at Ignition Music Garage. Come meet her and shop her beautiful pottery 5 - 8 pm!

I love making bowls, especially on the wheel. I love working on the wheel because it still feels new to me. I feel like I’m continually learning.
-
Yes, there are times when a bowl gets too wet and will collapse. I just reuse the clay when it’s ready.
-
Travel. I recently traveled to New York City and saw a Broadway play, went to art museums, and visited some classic NYC restaurants.
Last Fall I went overseas to Copenhagen, Denmark then to Nice and Paris, France. Next May I’m planning a trip to Scotland.

Be curious. Just begin and be curious. Don’t be discouraged if things go wrong.
You don’t even need to own all the resources, you can take classes like I did and then work Open Studio like I do at South Bend Art Museum.
